Did you get any tattoos or body piercings since high school?

Your career now. Is what you wanted to do and how did you get into it?

I have done quite a few things. Little known fact, I taught at Mad River Junior High right out of college. I have also taught at Ohio State, Fresno State and a few colleges in Asia. I pastored a church and now work at a college in Nashville. I have had some great jobs!

If you are attached, how did you and your spouse/partner meet?

Cheri and I met at Miami U. She is from Findlay, OH and we have been married over 40 years. A very patient woman.

What is your favorite memory of Stebbins High School?

I think the wrestling team was my highlight. Great team with great memories.

If you could go back in time, what would you do differently in high school?

I would have thought about studying a lot more. I ended up spending most of my years as a grad student or teaching college. I was in lots of trouble in high school and almost went to jail. Linda Russell, '76, asked me to go to church and it changed my life as I became a Christian at that time.

What famous or interesting people have you met?

Tim Pawlenty, the Governor of Minnesota, just spoke at our college the other day. Knew the Governor of Wyoming. I have met the ambassador to China. Spent a couple of hours with pastor Rick Warren.

Not long after high school graduation, I ran into Ron at JC Penny's in Dayton. He came right up to me and told me about his new faith in Christ. I told him that Linda Russell (Class of 1974) from Stebbins had invited me to church and because of that, I had become a Christian in the fall of 1975. It was an amazing reunion of two Stebbins wrestlers in that store. Many would have called us unlikely converts. He will be missed. We had many fun times in the wood shop. Praying for his family. Blessings to all!
